A salute to all who have served, and sacrificed.
To make this personal, a salute to Dad who remains my link to the
greatest generation.
Here he is at 20 with his P-47 at Dobodura, New Guinea, and at 95 with
his beer.

Stella Artois?...real pilots only drink Budweiser...wish him well for me...one
fellow military pilot to another.
....and I took down my Warriors flag and replaced it with my American one.

Dad was never a Bud drinker, and in New Guinea, and the Philippines
they drank whatever they could fly in from Australia.

I wish our three wounded Warriors a speedy recovery. At least they
pulled it without them out last night.

It was a great game...still waiting for DeMarcus Cousins. He was paid $5.3M
for a one year contract and has yet to play his FIRST game!
The Raiders (heh) play the Chargers shortly while the 9ners play tomorrow
night...neither team worth bragging about.

In Vietnam, our "officers club" was a 60 foot beat up worn out trailer they
managed to salvage from who-knows-where. Each week a "Beer Baron" was
appointed by the CO to make sure we didn't run out of beer...you'd drive to a
class-6 warehouse and load up with as many cases as would fit in a jeep (usually
6 to 8).
At times, it seemed like that job was more important than flying!
As the junior officer (1st lieutenant) for 9 months, I pulled that job more
often than I care to remember.
